In this video, I discussed an easier and faster way to solve problems like this:
The sum of three consecutive even numbers is 114. What is the smallest of the three numbers?

This technique works for odd or even numbers as long as there’s an odd amount of numbers in the sequence. If the problem talks about five consecutive numbers, you just have to divide it by five instead of three. If it talks about seven consecutive numbers, then you just have to divide the sum by seven to get the middle number.
