Comparing Fractions

This is another skill that will help you finish aptitude exams faster.

Comparing Fractions may seem simple, but taking the traditional route of finding the LCD and converting each fraction can take up a lot of time. That’s why I made this video explaining some of the quick tricks I use to eyeball it.

Dealing with Integers

Integers may seem really complicated the first time you encounter them. I remember my dad trying to explain the concept of negative and positive numbers to us when we were younger. It took some time before we were able to wrap our heads around the concept.

That’s why, like everything else, practice is necessary. I made an entire series of videos dedicated to this topic. Watch all these before trying your hand at the free downloadable worksheets from Math-Aids.com.

Are you ready? Make sure that you pay extra attention to the signs.

Fractions: Finding the LCD

Since many of you are interested in joining the Online Review Program, here’s a little taste of what you can expect from the program. This is what a Learning Experience is like. The only difference is that it includes exclusive video lessons on topics like Paragraph Organization, Assumptions and Conclusions, etc.

This is something that you really need to master in order to ace aptitude exams. In my experience, I’ve had to use this technique in  Science High School Entrance Exams, the NCAE, College Entrance Exams (UPCAT, PUPCET), the Civil Service Exam, UP Law Aptitude Exam, and in job intake exams.

I discused this briefly in an older video, but I decided to explain it better and teach my speed technique in this new one. Watch it and try your hand in answering the Quick Quiz at the end of the video before taking on the exercise. Get your pen and paper ready.

Let’s do this!

Adding and Subtracting Radicals

Now that you know how to simplify radicals, we can start with adding and subtracting them. If you haven’t seen my video lesson on simplifying radicals, click here. You need to know that before even attempting to add and subtract radicals.

Watch the video below to learn how to manipulate radicals and put them together.

Now, it’s time to put your knowledge into good use. Answer the worksheets below to see if you really know it. There are two of these. You can answer one now and keep one for later.

Adding and Subtracting Polynomials

This is something that was taught to us when we were in high school. It’s something that some of us understood really well, but most had a hard time with. We are going to talk about it because it’s something that always shows up in the Civil Service Exam.

You can practice using the techniques you learned by answering these free worksheets:

Properties of Addition and Multiplication

Sa exam, ito na siguro ang mga pinakamadaling klase ng tanong na lumalabas. Kaya nga lang, marami sa mga nag-eexam ang nakalimutan na ang mga ito. I won’t blame you if isa ka sa kanila. After all, it’s been years since you last had to memorize this.

In this video, I’ll teach you how I remember these properties easily. I’m not big on memorization pero I believe in information reconstruction. With the right mnemonics and memory aids, kaya rin ninyong sagutin kahit anong tanong about these properties pagdating ng exam.
