Adding and Subtracting Polynomials

This is something that was taught to us when we were in high school. It’s something that some of us understood really well, but most had a hard time with. We are going to talk about it because it’s something that always shows up in the Civil Service Exam.

You can practice using the techniques you learned by answering these free worksheets:

Mr. Gio Sampayan, CSE Passer – October 2015

Hi! This is Gio.

Gusto ko sanang magpasalamat sa iyo, Ms.Lyqa, for exerting so much effort in helping us. I didn’t have the chance to attend in one of your review sessions, but thankfully your tips and techniques in passing any exam through your YouTube videos assisted me. I thought they were very helpful.

However, of all the videos you uploaded I have this one favorite video which is Multiplying by Five. I find it not only instructional, but also entertaining. Why is it entertaining? #OnlyTeamLyqaKnows.

Kidding aside, I am thankful that the time when I was browsing the web, looking for something or someone that would help me pass the CSE, Lord God took my hand and guided me into your FB page.

Daghang Salamat!

I am Joshua Gio C. Sampayan, October 2015 CSE passer, thankful to be part of TEAMLYQA.

Testimony: Ms. Margie Marcos

MargieI am from Cagayan Valley and a graduating Education student. I am a working student in school.

Last year( I was in 3rd yr. college then), I took the CS exam-Professional Level. Since I am a working student, I really had a hard time finding time to review and prepare for the exam. I did not enroll in any review center.

One week before the exam, I felt so nervous and worried about the exam. I surfed the internet to check on my room assignment and that’s when I found the videos of Team Lyqa.

For 7 days, I started to use my time wisely during the night after my class and work in school. I watched the steps in solving math problems, reading comprehension and other techniques attentively.

I also followed her Facebook page immediately.

Thanks to #teamlyqa videos. Sobrang nakakapagpalakas siya ng loob at effective talaga yung mga techniques. Dito ako ulit magrereview for the LET this year. Tiwala po ako dito.

#makingadifferenceglobally #teamlyqa

Thank you for sharing your story, Margie. I pray that you will do well sa LET mo this year. Keep praying and God will help you pass.

How about you? Are you a Team Lyqa passer? Please send your testimony, a picture, and tips to teamlyqa@gmail.com and I will post it here to encourage your team members. I’m sure they will love to hear your advice.

Properties of Addition and Multiplication

Sa exam, ito na siguro ang mga pinakamadaling klase ng tanong na lumalabas. Kaya nga lang, marami sa mga nag-eexam ang nakalimutan na ang mga ito. I won’t blame you if isa ka sa kanila. After all, it’s been years since you last had to memorize this.

In this video, I’ll teach you how I remember these properties easily. I’m not big on memorization pero I believe in information reconstruction. With the right mnemonics and memory aids, kaya rin ninyong sagutin kahit anong tanong about these properties pagdating ng exam.

Venn Diagrams

Understanding how a Venn Diagram works can help you with the examination. This isn’t just about having questions with a Venn Diagram for reference. Makakatulong din sa logical and analytical skills ninyo.

Here’s my video lesson on this topic. Watch it before you try your hand at answering the worksheets below.

Just a quick note, when you try to answer these worksheets, really think about it before writing your answer down. Consider all of the figures, not just the ones directly mentioned in the question.

Mean, Median, and Mode

There may be a couple of statistic questions in the examination. Kaya it’ll pay to brush up on these simple concepts-the mean, mode, median, and range.

So, how do you solve for them? Here’s how:

  • Mean = Average. All you have to do is to add all of the scores and divide it by the number of scores. For example: 3, 4, and 5 will give you a mean of 4 because (3+4+5) divided by 3 is 4.
  • Mode = The score with the most repetitions. In short, yung pinakasikat or uso. For example: 3, 4, 4, and 5 will have a mode of 4 because there are 2 4s and just one each of 3 and 5.
  • Median = Middle. Write all of the scores in ascending order and pick the number in the middle spot. For example: 3, 4, 5, will give you a median of 4 because it is the middle number.
  • Range = The largest score minus the smallest score. For example: 3, 4, and 5 will have a range of 2 because 5 – 3 is 2.

It’s time to put that into practice. Here are a couple of worksheets to get you started.
